The "Two paths" technique

When facing an "either-or" choice, this method lets you "see" both roads in advance. One card per path, plus a "hidden factor" and an "outcome" to look at the situation more broadly.

⏱ Time: 15-25 min ▸ Level: easy
1
Phrase your question
Briefly describe the situation and name the two paths you are choosing between. It could be a job, relationships, a move — any "either-or" choice.
2
Choose a deck
For an "either-or" spread, story and imagery decks work best — they show how events unfold along each path.
3
Draw the card "Path A"
The card tells where the first option leads: what feelings, events and experiences will appear. What will I gain, what will I give?
4
Draw the card "Path B"
The same story — for the second option. The card shows the atmosphere, resources and difficulties of this path.
5
Draw the card "Hidden factor"
This is what you're not yet factoring in: an unnoticed detail, someone else's interest, your inner motivation or a fear.
6
Draw the card "Outcome / advice"
The final hint from the cards: which path is closer to your true goals right now, and what to lean on when choosing.
7
Interpret the result
Combine all four cards into a single picture. Compare the paths, look at the hidden factor and make a considered choice.
