Locus of control is where you habitually place the cause of what happens: inside yourself ("it depends on me") or outside ("it's circumstances, chance, other people"). An internal locus isn't about shouldering everything — it's about a sense of authorship. An external one isn't about weakness — it's the feeling that the wheel isn't in your hands. The result is a tendency, not a verdict.
