Depression · Anxiety · Stress (DASS-21)

The Depression Anxiety Stress Scales-21 (Lovibond & Lovibond) is a standard intake instrument in therapy: it separately assesses depressive symptoms (dysphoria, anhedonia, hopelessness, self-devaluation), anxiety (autonomic arousal, muscle tension, panic experiences), and stress (nervous tension, irritability, difficulty relaxing). Three independent scales, not one — so it sees what exactly is pronounced right now: sometimes "everything is bad" is mostly anxiety or stress, not depression.

Before you start
This is a symptom screen for the past week, not a diagnosis. DASS-21 separates three states but does not diagnose disorders. Pronounced scores are a reason for attention and for seeing a specialist, not a self-diagnosis; mild ones are not "nothing" but a signal of load.
